<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection device which uses a DMD element. SOLUTION: The projection device is equipped with a light source which emits light, a projection optical system which projects the light from the light source on a screen, a reflecting element including a plurality of drivable mirrors which are provided between the light source and projection optical system and can reflect the light made incident from the light source toward the projection optical system, and an illumination optical system which is arranged on the optical path between the light source and reflecting element and is so tilted to or decentered from the optical axis that the light made incident from the light source impinges on the reflecting element at a specified angle. A lens is used for the illumination optical system and the optical paths of the projection optical system and illumination optical system can be separated; and the projection device can be manufactured through easy assembly and the light efficiency and contrast are improved.</p> |
