METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REDUCING NOISE AT IRON BRIDGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively reducing noise generated at an iron bridge, by controlling vibrations of the iron bridge at its vibration generating source by using an apparatus of a simple structure, and to provide the apparatus per se. SOLUTION: According to the method, piezoelectric elements 7 connected to a power consuming circuit 8 are fixed to the iron bridge 1 at necessary locations, and electromotive force generated at each piezoelectric element 7 due to deformation of the piezoelectric element 7 caused by vibrations of the iron bridge 1 is consumed at the power consuming circuit 8.
