PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyimide-coated metal tape which is used for manufacturing a package for housing an electronic part by processing such as draw forming punching and punching folding and is excellent in punching quality. SOLUTION: In the metal tape, part of the surface of the tape is coated with a polyimide by applying and heating a polyamide acid varnish. When the tape is produced, the weight ratio of a residual solvent in a coating material is made 0.15-1.0%. By adjusting the ratio to be 0.18-0.7%, the punching quality can be improved. When the amount of the residual solvent is deviated from the range, the punching quality is deteriorated. |
