CERIUM PHOSPHATE-TITANIUM PHOSPHATE ULTRAVIOLET SCREENING AGENT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ultraviolet screening agent having high transparency, excellent ultraviolet screening efficiencies against UV-A and UV-B, and extremely low light/heat catalytic activities, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method comprises the steps of adding a phosphoric acid salt solution to a mixed solution of a cerium salt and a titanium salt to obtain a gel of a complex, and subjecting the gel to washing with water and filtration followed by drying or burning. The cerium phosphate-titanium phosphate ultraviolet screening agent expressed by the formula: CeXTi1- XP2 O7 .nH2 O(0<=x<=1) and having an average particle size of 0.003-1μm is obtained by this method.
