PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perpendicularity meter with which the perpendicularity of a multistage expansion arm can be confirmed with high visibility regardless of the height of the arm. SOLUTION: This perpendicularity meter has a cylindrical outer cover 17 painted in an arbitrary color, an inner drum 19 rotatably inserted into the cover 17, and a driving device 21 which is inserted into the lower part of the drum 19 and rotatably drives the drum 19 in accordance with inclination. A window 18 is made through the external cover 17 and a colored section 19b which has the same shape as that of the window 18 and the same color as that of the cover 17 is provided on the drum 19. Consequently, the perpendicularity meter 16 can be observed in the same color when the meter 16 is in a vertical state.
