PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the excavation efficiency and reliability in an underground connecting type tunnel boring machine by smoothly cutting and connecting tunnel structures. SOLUTION: A cutting ring 45 formed of an outside ring 46 and an inside ring 47 is installed to an excavator body 11, the hook part 59 of a support ring 56 is engagingly locked to the locking part 55 of the inside ring 47, and the support ring 56 is connected to the outside ring 46 through a first connecting pin 60. The drive rod 63 of a ring slide jack 62 provided on the excavator body 11 is connected to the support ring 56 through two or more connecting screws 67, and the docking pin 71 of a cutter head 21 is rotatably engaged with the engagement groove of the inside ring 47.
