PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of parts, simplify the structure, downsize a cutter mechanism, and the like by eliminating an intermediate gear when a rotary type moving blade is rotated by a rotation force of a gear meshed with a fixed rack. SOLUTION: The printer 10 is provided with a roll paper storage part 11 for storing roll paper P1, a printing head 14 for printing to the roll paper P1, a fixed blade 36 arranged along a width direction of a roll paper path, and the rotary type moving blade 40 for cutting the roll paper P1 between the fixed blade 36 and the moving blade. The moving blade 40 is set via a rotary shaft 39 to a moving blade support member 38 which moves along the fixed blade 36. Moreover, the fixed rack 43a is provided which is meshed with the gear 44 set on the rotary shaft 39 for rotating the moving blade and rotates the moving blade 40 corresponding to the movement of the moving blade support member 38. The fixed rack 43a is arranged between the roll paper path and the gear 44 for rotating the moving blade.
