PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for providing more effective guidance information suited to individual users. SOLUTION: The method for providing guidance information indicating a route from the present position to a destination comprises a step of setting the priority to landmarks according to the contents of landmark access information showing the access condition to landmark information, and a step of setting the landmarks on a background map to generate a guide map according to the set priority and generate guidance sentences according to the generated guide map.
