PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pivotally bear a carrying arm of a rear view mirror. SOLUTION: This structure for bearing the carrying arm 6 of the rear view mirror for an automobile pivotally on a fixing member mounted on the body of the automobile comprises a pivotal bearing 8 provided between the fixing member 4 and the carrying arm 6. The pivotal motion of the carrying arm 6 on the fixing member 4 around a pivotal shaft 10 of the pivotal bearing 8 is achieved by a subsidiary drive engaging with the pivotal bearing 8.
