PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoresis display device permitting simple matrix driving with a simple cell structure. SOLUTION: The electrophoresis display device comprises a display body in which a plurality of cells (A11, A12, A21, etc.), holding a dispersion liquid with electrophoretic particles dispersed in an insulating liquid are two- dimensionally arranged in the directions of the row and column; a plurality of 1st electrodes (7-1 through 7-4) and a plurality of 2nd electrodes (8-1 through 8-5) which are on one of the surfaces of the display body and are alternately arranged on a plurality of boundary parts formed by the adjacent 1st row of cells when a plurality of the cells in line in the direction of the row among the cells are defined as the 1st rows of the cells; a plurality of 3rd electrodes (9-1 through 9-8) which are on the other surface of the display body and are arranged on the 2nd row of cells when a plurality of the cells arranged in line in the direction of the column are defined as the 2nd rows of the cells; and a voltage control part (12-4) for individually controlling the voltages to be supplied to the 1st electrodes (7-1 through 7-4), the 2nd electrodes (8-1 through 8-5), and the 3rd electrodes (9-1 through 9-8).
