PURPOSE: A suction port assembly for a vacuum cleaner is provided to control the suction force of a waste suction hole according to the kind of the cleaned surface. CONSTITUTION: In an adsorption preventing damper installed at a suction port assembly(30) and preventing waste from being adsorbed at a waste suction hole(34), a valve(42) opens/closes an auxiliary suction hole(41) formed at the outside of a suction port body(31). A spring(43) is coupled to the valve, and supports the valve elastically. A bottom plate(44) is installed at the inside of the suction port body, and fixes and supports the spring. An elasticity control unit(47) adjusts the interval between the bottom plate and the valve, and controls the elasticity of the spring.
