<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix driven electro-optical device such as a liquid crystal device which can add sufficient storage capacitance to pixel electrodes and can decrease the diameter of contact holes connecting with the pixel electrodes even when a fine pixel pitch is employed. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device is provided with TFTs (30), data lines (6a), scanning lines (3a), storage capacitor lines (3b) and the pixel electrodes (9a) on a TFT array substrate (10). Each of the pixel electrodes is electrically connected to one of the TFTs by two contact holes (8a, 8b) through a barrier layer (80). Part of a semiconductor layer and each of the storage capacitor lines sandwich a first dielectric film (2) and constitute a first storage capacitor (70a), while part of the barrier layer and each of the storage capacitor lines sandwich a second dielectric film (81) and constitute a second storage capacitor (70b).</p> |
