DRIVE CONTROLLER OF INK JET HEAD AND METHOD FOR DETECTING INCOMPLETE INK EJECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect incomplete ink ejection due to mixture of a bubble in an electrostatic driving type ink jet head through a simple arrangement. SOLUTION: The drive controller 1 of an electrostatic driving type ink jet head 100 comprises an ink jet head control section 2 and a head driver IC wherein an incomplete nozzle judging circuit 23 at the ink jet head control section 2 judges presence of an ink nozzle ejecting ink incompletely based on a drive current being generated between the diaphragm and the discrete electrode of each ink nozzle and detected by a drive current detecting circuit 22. When incomplete ink ejection is detected, a head recovery control circuit 31 drives an ink suction mechanism 32 to suck ink from the ink nozzle 105 thus removing a mixed bubble.
