PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an electronically controlled throttle system to quickly diagnose two sensors as failed even when the sensors have failed at the same time, the throttle system having two systems set independently for accelerator pedal sensors and making mismatching diagnosis, whereby the sensors are diagnosed as failed if the difference between inputs from the sensors is not less than a predetermined value, and out-of-range diagnosis whereby the sensors are diagnosed as failed if the inputs from the sensors are outside of a predetermined range. SOLUTION: Different time constants are set for input circuits INP1 and INP2 to which signals are input from the accelerator pedal sensors APS1 and APS2. More specifically, the input circuits INP1 and INP2 of the accelerator pedal sensors APS1 and APS2 are made to have the same value for C×R1 determining filter characteristics, and different values for C×(R1+R2) determining a discharge time constant for use in the event of a disconnection.
