PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper plate scratch-inspecting apparatus that is capable of detection even under string inspection environment, and in particular can reliably detect scratches that are generated in parallel with the running direction of the steel plate. SOLUTION: The copper plate scratch-inspecting apparatus comprises an ultraviolet light source for applying ultraviolet rays to the steel plate that is running in a iron manufacture line, a photographing means for detecting reflection light that is reflected on the surface of the steel plate, a differential processing means for processing the intensity signal of the reflection light that is detected by the photographing means, and a display means for displaying the intensity signal that is differentiated by the differential processing means as a differential waveform, thus displaying the scratch in the steel plate as the change in the intensity signal of the reflection light.
