PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chopper device provided with a guide that can stably send out trim chips to a shearing edge of the chopper device. SOLUTION: This chopper device 10 shears trim chips 12 produced by cutting the side edge parts of a metal band 11 by a side trimmer device 15, into chopper chips 13 of prescribed length for waste disposal. A trim chip guide 7 is provided directly in front of a shearing edge of the chopper device 10, and the internal upper face of the guide 7 is formed in smooth projecting shape in the proceeding direction of the trim chip 12. Further, the guide is formed in rectangular cross section, the width W is at least the maximum slit width or more, the bottom face is formed in a smooth plane or slightly projecting shape, and the maximum height H does not exceed one half of the maximum length of the trim chip 12 fed during cutting of a chopper.
