PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a building plate capable of giving an uneven surface pattern abounding in variations by a simple method without being required for any large scale equipment. SOLUTION: The building plate is so constituted that a surface coating film is formed on the surface of the plate by paint mixed with a shirasu balloon and/or a charcoal powder and that projections are formed on the surface coating film by the shirasu balloon and/or the charcoal powder in the paint. The shirasu balloon and the charcoal powder have low density, even if they are mixed with the paint, they are not settled to maintain a good state of dispersion so that frequent stirs is not required to have good workability, and since there is an equal dispersion arrangement state even in the surface coating film formed by paint application, the homogeneous building plate can be obtained.
