PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pasted wet Shoji paper which can simplify papering works, and to provide a method for producing the paper. SOLUTION: This pasted wet Shoji paper is obtained by impregnating Shoji paper with the aqueous solution of a water-soluble polymer in an amount of 0.8 to 6.0 times the weight of the Shoji paper and then folding up and sealing the treated Shoji paper. The Shoji paper comprises 1.0 to 10 wt.% of hot water- soluble Vinylon (R) binder fibers, 0.5 to 10 wt.% of Vinylon (R) fibers, and 5 to 50 wt.% of rayon fibers as hydrophilic synthetic fibers, 1.0 to 40 wt.% of polyester fibers and/or polyacrylonitrile fibers and 0.5 to 20 wt.% of heat- meltable polyester binder fibers as hydrophobic synthetic fibers, or 1.0 to 40 wt.% of polyolefin-based fibers and 0.5 to 20 wt.% of heat-meltable polyolefin binder fibers as hydrophobic synthetic fibers, and the remainder of cellulose pulp or bast fibers.
