A combined cycle power plant has a gas turbine power facility 33, a heat recovery steam generator (known as a HRSG) 37, a steam turbine power facility 23, a condenser 28, and a boiler 26. The steam turbine facility includes a high and low pressure turbine, 24 and 25 respectively. The combined cycle plant has a system for introducing high pressure steam, which is generated in the HRSG and the boiler into the high pressure turbine through steam lines 27, 39, which extend from the existing boiler and the HRSG and are then joined together. The condenser 28 and a condenser pump 30 provide feedwater to the steam turbine power facility, branching off at the pump outlet. One branch supplying low pressure steam to the low pressure turbine 25 from feedwater via a reheater 56, an evaporator 51, and a superheater 53a. Feedwater is also supplied to a feedwater pump 48 through a deaerator 47, branching off at the feedwater pump outlet to supply feedwater to the boiler and a high pressure stage of the HRSG, via lines 31, 38. The HRSG high pressure stage includes a reheater 55, an evaporator 50, and a superheater 53, and supplies high pressure steam to the high pressure turbine.
