摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen storage alloy having a body-centered cubic structure, which has particularly a periodic structure formed by spinodal decomposition, large hydrogen capacity and an excellent hydrogen emission property, and enables an activating condition to be moderate. SOLUTION: The hydrogen storage alloy comprises at least two or more alloy components, and has two solid solutions having a regularly periodic structure as a main phase, which are formed by the spinodal decomposition in a region where a relation curve of chemical free energy and an alloy composition of an alloy solid solution has a projecting shape toward the top, at a solidus temperature or lower in a phase diagram of the above alloy components, namely in a region which satisfies d<2> G/dXB<2> <0, (where G represents chemical free energy; and XB represents solute alloy concentration). The two solid solutions composing the above main phase are characterized by growing in a particular crystal orientation in a cooling process, and having the periodic structure with phase intervals of a nano order, namely of 1.0-100 nm.
