PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throating material for a venting construction method capable of being used even to a venting type building foundation structure having any form. SOLUTION: The throating material is composed of a throating material body 1 made of one metal plate, a rodent control section 5 with a vent hole, through which a rat cannot pass, and an insecticidal section 6 with a vent hole, through which an insect cannot pass. The rodent control section 5 is formed by folding back a sheet metal at the lower end of an apron section 4 for the throating material body, working the sheet metal along the rears of the apron section 4 and a rainwater guide section 3 and further bending the sheet metal at the place 12 of bending. The insecticidal section 6 is formed by folding back the sheet metal at the upper end of a mounting section 2 for the throating material body, working the sheet metal along the mounting section and further bending the sheet metal at the place 14 of bending. Bending facilitating working is performed to the places 12, 13 and 14 of bending by a boring and a grooving.
