PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compactly constitute an expansion joint having a large movable range, and to install the expansion joint even to a building in which a mounting size is limited. SOLUTION: A cover body for the expansion joint joining both skeletons being adjacent, holding an opening by stretching the cover body between the skeletons is constituted so that a cover material mounted on the skeleton on one side, a cover material secured to the skeleton on the other side and a cover material connected at the opposed end sections of both cover materials can be superposed mutually slidably and integrally.
