PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the correct engine output torque constantly corresponding to operation parameters with the small amount of data. SOLUTION: When the line pressure for controlling a transmission to change the output of an engine E is determined by a control valve CV, standard diagrammatic torque is calculated on the basis of revolutions of an engine Ne (block B3), a correction coefficient TKQ is calculated on the basis of the difference of the operation parameters between an actual operating condition and a standard operating condition (block B5), the actual diagrammatic torque generated in the actual operating condition is calculated by correcting the standard diagrammatic torque (block B6), the friction torque of the engine is calculated on the basis of the revolutions and the load of the engine (block B4), the net torque of the engine is calculated by subtracting the friction torque from the actual diagrammatic torque (block B7), and the line pressure is determined in accordance with the net torque.
