PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a water treating agent suppressing corrosion of a metal and suppressing the generation of a scale. SOLUTION: A water treating agent is to suppress adhesion of a scale to the water tube of a steam boiler device and corrosion of the water tube, and contains an organic polybasic acid oxide, a pH controlling agent, an oxygen scavenger, and a chelating agent.
