PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the rigidity of a grain guide part, prevent/suppress the deformation and torsion, facilitate the assembly and mounting and reduce cost. SOLUTION: This traverse carrying device comprises a carrying conveyor 7 for carrying materials supplied from a supply part 2 at one end or the middle upper position of a machine casing 1 formed long in the carrying direction to a discharge part 6 at the other end of the supply part 2, a driven sprocket 8 mounted via a driven shaft 9 on a pair of longitudinally moving plate 17 of a tension adjusting mechanism T longitudinally movable with respect to the machine casing 1 for hitching and rotating a chain 13 of the carrying conveyor 7, and the crosswise grain guide part 30 located at a predetermined space backward and downward from the driven sprocket 8 and mounted on the pair of longitudinally moving plate 17 in such a manner as to be movable together therewith for guiding grains being carried by the carrying conveyor, the grain guide part 30 having a lower edge 33 abutting on a bottom plate 34 of the machine casing 1 and an upper guide portion 38, provided at the upper part thereof, abutting on the inside upper face of the machine casing 1.
