Processing unit and method for handling a plurality of data files allowing improved user options in handling modification, particularly in a distributed system such as a client server environment. A data file detection unit is provided for detecting modified data files, which were modified since a last storing operation. A unit maintains a modification list which identifies each modified data file. Thus, even if a user discards e.g. subframes displaying a modified document, modifications are maintained in association with the modification list and a decision on discarding or saving the modifications may be made at a later point in time. <IMAGE> |
