<p>A waste processing apparatus 1 comprising a plurality of waste-receiving compartments 2a-d and a waste processor (possibly a shredder or a compactor arrangement) 8 and wherein each of the compartments 2a-d and the processor 8 are movable relative to each other from a first position in which waste from one of the compartments 2a-d may be transferred to the processor 8 to a second position in which waste from another of the compartments 2a-d may be transferred to said processor. The arrangement takes the form of a housed carousel 5, comprising a spindle 4, carousel hole 5c positioned within a first plate, a second steel plate 6 and an associated aperture 7 and a base plate 11. Other identified elements include motor 9, waste processor drive shaft 10 and housing 12, waste collection receptacles 3a-c, apparatus housing 19, access doors 19, 19' and cover apertures 15a-d. Inserted waste may be urged from one of the compartments 2a-d in to the processor 8 via a piston, the housing of which is shown as element 16. A shredder comprising two shredding surfaces which are each rotatable along a shaft guide (see Fig 3) is also disclosed.</p> |
