PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chlorine gas sensor comprising a slightly water-soluble structure, and usable practially and even in various environments. SOLUTION: A second oblong planar slid electrolyte 2 comprising Ca-doped LaOCl is provided adjacently to a first oblong planar solid electrolyte 1 comprising a solid solution having a composition of (AlYZr1- Y)4/(4- Y) Nb(PO4 )3 (Y=0.2). Current-collecting gold nets 3, 4 are provided on the upside of the first solid electrolyte 1 and on the underside of the second solid electrolyte 2, and gold wires 5, 6 are additionally provided, to thereby manufacture this chlorine gas sensor 10. When the chlorine gas sensor 10 is arranged in a chlorine gas atmosphere, an electromotive force generated in the first solid electrolyte 1 is measured between the gold wires 5, 6, and the chlorine gas concentration is quantitated. |
