PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter for a liquid crystal display device provided with columnar spacers, with which the liquid crystal display device can be attained, wherein panel assembly can be performed while the gap is being properly maintained, the gap is reduced and fixedly maintained when excess load is applied or when a liquid crystal is contracted under a low temperature condition and accordingly color unevenness or the like is not generated and vacuum bubbles (low temperature bubbles) are not generated. SOLUTION: The columnar spacers are constituted of two columnar spacers of a columnar spacer (a first columnar spacer) having the height and the sectional area corresponding to the deformation by the load at the time when the panel is assembled and the deformation following the contraction of the liquid crystal at low temperature and a columnar spacer (a second columnar spacer) having height and sectional area holding the gap between substrates when excess load is applied and when the liquid crystal is contracted under low temperature condition. |
