PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method securing the volume required for an internal space and reducing the number of components by improving the structure of the lower part of a valve chamber, in view of the tendency of an underground valve chamber to decrease in total height. SOLUTION: The embedded depth of a buried pipeline generally has the tendency to become shallower. An underground valve chamber in which a lower casing having an arcuate cutout matching the outer surface of the pipeline is seated is constructed immediately above the pipeline, whereby a space between the surface of the ground and the upper surface of the pipeline can be entirely utilized to secure a working space for maintenance and control. A flat pedestal which is normally an independent structure is formed integrally with the valve chamber to facilitate inventory control and simplify assembly operation.
