PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishcloth and a wiping cloth having excellent water- absorbance, water retention and wiping performance and preferable especially for the polishing of glass ware and porcelain ware. SOLUTION: The woven fabric having excellent water-wiping performance and stain-wiping performance is at least partly composed of a multi-component spun yarn containing a synthetic fiber multifilament having a single fiber fineness of <=1 dtex as a part of the yarn and the fabric has a multiple texture or woven with warps and wefts composed of ground yarn and pile yarn. The fabric satisfies formula (1): [water-absorption (%)]/[water-takeup rate (sec)]>=0.50.
