PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize both of reduction in a vehicle mounting space in a cabin unit part and securement of drainage in a horizontal installation evaporator. SOLUTION: In this air conditioner for the vehicle, the evaporator 23 is arranged horizontally substantially above a blower 11 so that blown air from the blower 11 passes through the evaporator 23 from the downside to the upside. The blower 11 is provided with a centrifugal blower fan 16 and a scroll casing 18 housing the centrifugal blower fan 16. A rotary shaft 1 in the blower 11 is arranged in the vehicle lateral direction, and above the blower 11, the evaporator 23 is arranged while tilted at a predetermined angleθfrom the horizontal plane in the vehicle lateral direction.
