PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper-containing composite material which has good injection moldability, does not develop a weld mark, and further does not develop warp and burr in the form of thin shaped articles. SOLUTION: This paper-containing composite material prepared by heating and kneading a thermoplastic resin with crushed laminated paper obtained by crushing laminated paper on whose one or both sides one or two laminated resin layers are disposed is characterized in that the melt mass-flow rate (MFR) of the thermoplastic resin is 500 to 1,000 g/10 min measured according to JIS K 7210. The thermoplastic resin may be polypropylene, and the laminated resin layer may be a polyethylene resin layer.
