CHARGING APPARATUS AND METHOD IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A charging apparatus and a method in a mobile communication system are provided to charge only for no-error data. CONSTITUTION: A PPP(Point-to-Point Protocol) layer checks whether a frame is received from an RLP(Radio Link Protocol) layer(401). If a frame is received, the PPP layer calculates a CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Check) for the frame and compares it with a CRC contained in the frame(403). The PPP layer checks whether there is an error in the frame(405). If there is an error in the frame data, the PPP layer generates a control frame including information on the size of the error data(407). The PPP layer transfers the control frame to a base station(409). The PPP layer checks whether a response to the control frame is received from the base station(411). When a response is received(413), the PPP layer updates a reception data quantity and displays it on a display unit(415).
