PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stabilizing ascorbic acid oxidase (ASOD) in which a solution of ASOD excellent in long-term storage can be obtained and the resultant reagent which is stable in liquid state is extremely useful at the present time in which the liquid reagent is a mainstream as a reagent for biochemical diagnosis. SOLUTION: This method for stabilizing ascorbic acid oxidase comprises adding a sugar alcohol to a solution containing the ascorbic acid oxidase. In the method for stabilizing the ascorbic acid oxidase, the sugar alcohol is one or more sugar alcohol selected from xylitol, mannitol, sorbitol, arabinitol, erythritol, galactitol, inositol and ribitol.
