PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment equipment for hazardous materials which is capable of more exactly treating a material to be treated. SOLUTION: The inner flanks of cylindrical columns 15a, 15b,...15f are coated with titanium dioxide films for inactivating the hazardous materials, such as viruses, bacteria and toxins, having a possibility of being included in the material to be treated, such as blood, by a photocatalyst function. A holding material to hold a specific hazardous material is immobilized to the surfaces of the titanium dioxide films. The light from a light source 14 is transmitted through the columns 15a, 15b,...15f and is directly cast to the titanium dioxide films. This light is reflected by the inner flank of a cover 7 and is then cast through the columns 15a, 15b,...15f to the titanium dioxide films. The titanium dioxide films can be efficiently and uniformly irradiated with the light from the light source 14, by which the titanium dioxide films can be more efficiently and uniformly photoexcited. The hazardous materials held by the holding material within the columns 15a, 15b,...15f can be efficiently inactivated. The material to be treated which is admitted into the columns 15a, 15b,...15f can be more efficiently treated. |
