PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To uniformly carry a catalyst material for cleaning components in exhaust gas on the total pore wall surface in a partition wall of an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst. SOLUTION: A method of forming a carrying layer 8 for carrying the catalyst material for cleaning specific components on a carrier base material 9 made of a porous material has a pressure reduction process for reducing pressure in a container 11 storing a coating liquid 10 for forming the carrying layer, a process for dipping the carrier base material in the coating liquid, and a pressure increasing process for increasing the pressure in the container storing the coating liquid. |
