PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide abnormally extended cloths removing apparatus in a cloth extending and carrying machine capable of automatically removing the abnormally extended cloths without interrupting an operation even when the abnormally extended cloths are detected. SOLUTION: The cloth spreading and carrying machine for spreading and then carrying large cloths to the press machine is provided with abnormally extended state detectors 81 and 82, a vertically swingable swing conveyor 6 provided on a part near a terminating end of a carrying device 5, a swing driving device 7 for vertically swinging the swing conveyor 6 and a controller 10. When the detector detects the abnormally extended cloths, by displacing the swing conveyor to a removing position and restoring the swing conveyor at an original carrying position after the succeeding end of the abnormally extended cloths is removed from a transport line, the abnormally extended cloths are automatically removed to the outside of the carrying line.
