PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermus thermophilus-originating serine transferase and a gene thereof. SOLUTION: This relates to a thermus thermophilus-originating serine transferase and a gene thereof bearing a specific amino acid sequence or a specific base sequence and to a method of producing L-cysteine by using the enzymatic reaction mixture including serine acetyltransferase and O-acetylserine (thiol)- lyase.
