PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable length balloon catheter and a method of manufacturing the same capable of changing an axial length of a balloon film even in a body with low frictional resistance without lowering the durability of the balloon film, and having superior inserting characteristic to a stenosed part. SOLUTION: A catheter tube 8 has a tube distal end part 8a to which a proximal end part 4b of the balloon film 4 is fixed, an inner tube 6 relatively movable in the axial direction inside and a rumen capable of taking in and out the fluid pressure to the inside of the balloon film 4 between the catheter tube 8 and the inner tube 6, and the proximal end part 4b of the balloon film 4 can axially be sent to an inner part of the balloon film 4 with the tube distal end part 8a in a state of expanding the balloon film 4. |
