PURPOSE: An interface device between a base station and a remote base station of a mobile communication system is provided to transmit data using a digital system between the remote base station and the base station, so as to enhance a modem coverage and transmission efficiency of the base station and easily recover data. CONSTITUTION: In a base station(300), a modem part(301) outputs baseband signals of modems(301a-301c) by each sector for the communication with terminals. A base station controller(302) outputs a control signal for controlling a remote base station. Muxes(303a-303c) mux each 14-bit baseband signal(1FA(Frequency Assignment),2FA) outputted from the modems(301a-301c) and the 1-bit remote base station control signal by sectors. Parallel/serial converters(304a-304c) convert parallel signals muxed in the muxes(303a-303c) into serial signals to output the converted signals. And electric/optical converters(305a-305c) convert the serial signals into optical signals. In the remote base station, optical/electric converters receive the optical signals from the base station(300) to perform optical/electric conversion. Serial/parallel converters convert the serial signals transmitted from the base station(300) into parallel signals. Demuxes divide the baseband signals(1FA,2FA) of the modems(301a-301c) and the remote base station control signal. A remote base station controller controls the remote base station by the divided remote base station control signal. RF(Radio Frequency) modulators modulate the divided baseband signals(1FA,2FA) to RF signals. Signal combiners combine the RF signals(1FA,2FA) by sectors to one signal by each sector. And power amplifiers perform power amplification to radiate the RF signals combined to one signal. |
