PURPOSE: A mechanical gas timer is provided to prevent accidents by making a fuse cock valve automatically closed by the mechanical timer at preset time when a user forgets the time for putting out a fire. CONSTITUTION: A mechanical gas timer comprises a handle(100), a cover(110), a body(120), a combining unit(130). A compression spring(150) is pushed in pushing and turning the handle counterclockwise. If a gear 1(170) rotates counterclockwise, a protrusion of a fixed leaf spring(200) is separated from a groove for fixing of the gear is turned and a spiral spring(180) is wound. The handle is combined with a shaft 1(160), with a bolt(280) and the handle has an insertion groove. A guide projection of the cover is inserted into the insertion groove. The guide projection moves along a guide groove of the handle and stops at a limit arrival stop projection of the set time. The mechanical gas timer is mounted to a fuse cock(140). Only pushing the handle turns the handle and the handle is turned just at 180 degrees. A fuse cock valve is turned at 90 degrees and is wholly opened just when the handle is turned at over 45 degrees. When the gear having some missing portion in the gear shape turns at 45 degrees, the spiral spring is wound around the shaft 1. The gear 1 rotates but a gear 3 of a clutch assembly engages with the missing portion in the gear shape of the gear 1. Accordingly, rotation transfer is not performed and thus, setting of the time is not performed. The time is not operated before the fuse cock valve is wholly opened.
