The aggregate may be sprayed with a layer of cold curing resin 1 to 3 mm. thick before the foam layer is formed. The foam is a cold curing polyester, polyurethane, phenolic or methacrylate resin and is reinforced with glass fibres or expanded clay or glass beads. The mould is plywood and has its lower face coated with wax. The sand bed may be replaced by quartz, marble, dolomite, kaolin, glass or ground plastics pdwder. The aggregate may be gravel, stone, marble or broken glass.
