PURPOSE: A drawer type washing machine and a method for assembling the same are provided to make the entire structure of the washing machine compact by separating a cabinet into a cabinet base and a cabinet body and effectively use the installation space by opening an outer tub like a drawer. CONSTITUTION: A drawer type washing machine includes a case(1) with an opening part at a side surface, a cabinet base(3a) to be inserted into or withdrawn from the opening part of the case and supporting an outer tub(5) on a plane bottom surface, and a cabinet body(3b) surrounding the outer tub and coupled with the cabinet base. The cabinet body is in the size capable of being inserted into or withdrawn from the opening part of the case.
