FIELD: gas-discharge devices. SUBSTANCE: device designed for introducing small amount of mercury into fluorescent lamp is made in the form of metal container holding powders of one or mode compounds of common chemical formula TixZryHgz, which is not encapsulated to enable escape of mercury vapors formed as result of decomposition of such compounds. Some configurations of such devices and their probable arrangement inside lamp are proposed. Method is disclosed for introducing mercury in lamp by means of proposed device without leaving the latter inside lamp upon its manufacture.
