GROWTH PROMOTING EXTRACT AND PHARMACEUTICAL FORMULATION CONTAINING SAME

PURPOSE: A pharmaceutical formulation containing, as an effective ingredient, an extract for promoting the growth of a mammal extracted from natural drugs such as Acanthopanax Senticosus(Rupr. et Maxim.) Harms, etc. is provided. The formulation has no toxicity and excellent growth promotion activity and is thus effectively used in treatment and prevention of homunculus, dwarfism and failure to thrive syndrome of children and infants. CONSTITUTION: The pharmaceutical formulation contains a growth promotion extract and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient. The growth promotion extract is obtained from 10 to 99% by weight of Acanthopanax Senticosus, 0.1 to 60% by weight of Rehmanniae Radix Preparata, 0.1 to 60% by weight of Dioscoreae Rhizoma, 0.1 to 60% by weight of Corni Fructus, 0.1 to 60% by weight of Poria cocos, 0.1 to 60% by weight of Cervi cornu and 0.1 to 60% by weight of Ginseng Radix.
