PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of production for aqueous solution of hydrophilic polymer free from undissolved substance, imparting a recording sheet excellent in quality of a coated film, applicable to production of an ink jet recording sheet which is produced in a short time. SOLUTION: This method for production of the aqueous solution of the hydrophilic polymer applied to production of the ink jet recording sheet comprises following steps: (1) a swelling step mixing/dispersing powder of at least one kind of the hydrophilic polymers with water, agitating for 5-120 min while defoaming by a centrifugal defoaming means installed on the surface of the liquid, (2) a dissolving step dissolving the mixed liquid after swelling by directly mixing with steam or continuously heating at 100-150 deg.C with a heat exchanger in the line while feeding the mixed liquid with a liquid feeding means, and (3) a defoaming step defoaming after dissolution by float defoaming the liquid in a defoaming vessel at 90-105 deg.C. |
