PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical seeking method independent of the change of reflectivity of a disk. SOLUTION: The tracking error signal is binarized and an edge part is counted to seek an objective track. The data signal is applied to a high-pass filter, and, the reflectivity changing part of a header, etc., is detected based on the output, while the tracking error signal for this period is held, or counting during this period is inversely performed.
