PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a polymer having vinyl sulfide groups and capable of simplifying a purification step and performing an aqueous polymerization and a curable composition consisting essentially of the polymer and affording a cured product having excellent heat, weather and oil resistances. SOLUTION: This polymer is derived from a polymer obtained by polymerizing at least one monomer selected from acrylic esters, methacrylic esters, acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, styrene,α-methylstyrene, butadiene, isoprene, vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate, acrylonitrile and methacrylonitrile, and has at least the one vinyl sulfide group in the molecule. The curable composition consists essentially of the polymer.
