PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber array which can accurately transmit a light signal so that when the optical fiber array is manufactured, its flank is not ground largely or some of end surfaces of the optical fibers is not ground obliquely. SOLUTION: The optical fiber array which has a plurality of grooves formed in a part of the top surface of a substrate and also has the optical fibers housed in the grooves via adhesives and on which a lid part partially housing the optical fibers is fitted to the substrate is characterized in that a recessed part for partially housing the optical fibers together is formed on the surface of the lid part which faces the substrate.
